--RW Maxim Afinogenov is back in coach Lindy Ruff's doghouse. After being scratched for a pair of games last week, Afinogenov returned to play in the next three, but was minus-2. Ruff sent the embattled Afinogenov, who has a team-worst minus-10 rating, back upstairs to watch Monday's game against Nashville.
--RW Ales Kotalik played in his first game since hurting a hamstring on Nov. 14 against Columbus. He missed seven games.
--LW Thomas Vanek's two-game goal-scoring streak was snapped.
--C Derek Roy failed to record a point for only the second time in the last nine games.
--C Tim Connolly hasn't played since Nov. 14 because of a broken rib. He will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
--D Craig Rivet is day-to-day with an upper body injury sustained against Montreal on Nov. 29.
--RW Patrick Kaleta is day-to-day with a head/neck injury. Kaleta was hurt when checked into the boards by Montreal's Andrei Kostitsyn on Nov. 29.
